It is with a heavy heart and much sadness, that we acknowledge the passing of our beloved Director Melanie Cassy. I had known Mel personally since 2008 and was eventually fortunate in convincing her to nominate to join the Board of the JMB Foundation.
Mel had been a Director of the Foundation since 11th February 2014.
As a qualified accountant, in her honorary role she had greatly assisted the Foundation in strengthening and maintaining its financial system and reporting.
Mel was generous with her time, and many of the Foundation’s Members and Directors were able to share a meal with her after the AGM held on 27th November 2017 in Hawthorn. Soon the world was to experience covid, and face to face meetings became impossible.
She passed away at Epworth Box Hill on 24th January at 4pm with her family by her side.
Her funeral was held on Monday 6th February in Boyd Chapel at Springvale Crematorium.
We hope her husband, sister, and children somehow find peace and understanding.
The Foundation is bereft at the loss of our warm, generous and loving colleague, and the void created by her passing is incalculable.
Farewell beautiful lady, and rest in peace.
