We celebrated another very successful Friends of JMB event on Thursday 30 October. Many thanks to the four women behind the annual event (see photo). And thanks to Carey Board Chair, Time Chilvers for his very kind words.
Message from the Carey Board Chair
Good evening everyone,
I regret that I can’t be with you tonight, but I wanted to take a moment to express my wholehearted support for the James Macready-Bryan Foundation and my deep admiration for the way our Carey community has come together around this cause.
The JMB Foundation began in response to a moment of unimaginable tragedy – but what has followed is one of the most powerful expressions of courage, compassion and community that I’ve seen. It stands as a living example of what we value most at Carey: that each person is known, cared for and supported to live a life of purpose and contribution.
The strength of the JMB Foundation reflects the very best of Carey: families, friends, and alumni who turn empathy into action. Our community see service not as an obligation, but as a privilege. It reminds us that out of adversity can come enduring goodness – and that when we act together, with faith and love, we can change lives.
To everyone involved in the Foundation – thank you for continuing to embody the spirit of Carey. You remind us that while our school is defined by its learning, it is sustained by its heart.
Tim Chilvers
